I took the NETA II test today and it was WAY different. The test was 100 questions and much harder than any of the questions on here. I wasn't told if I passed or not either. I called NETA because I wasn't sure if I had taken the correct test and I did take the correct test. The lady I talked to at NETA said the test difficulty was increased because people were finishing a test that was supposed to take 2 hours in 12 minutes. The test took an hour and 45 minutes to complete and covered a lot of more information than any of the practice tests on here.

How were the questions different? Were they less on safety? Were they more on theory and actual testing? Were they more specific?

please tell us more. 100 questions is double what it used to be! What kind of material did the test cover?
if you could post up some questions you remember seeing that would be great!

I actually called NETA to see how the tests would be different and was told the questions were just updated. I asked him if level III still had 72 questions on it and he said yes. However the person I was speaking to didnt seem to sure of anything I was asking him. Well hopefully you passed.

I took the test on July 22 and can confirm it is much more difficult and specific than the test questions on here. The test covers very specific specifications for a wide range of equipment, some basic equations and a little safety. It didn't go at all like any of us were expecting.

No sir I take the test nxt thursday. I heard through a lot of friends the test is completely different now, they made it a lot harder and different since most companies had the answers to the test.

Are the practice exams on here still helpful for the new format?

We got out results from July testing in about September. Most did not pass. I think we had a pass rate of around 3/20+ on that test. Most of the guys had been using testguy and other resources but very few took the time to actually research the NETA recommended study materials.
The testguy stuff is great but I think we will start to see more people having issues with the test as it is pretty different from what you see here. Almost everyone I tested with was breezing through the testguy questions and they almost all failed, so take don't base your confidence off the testguy results.

Do you know what area they focus on?

I took the new test back in Sept and failed on the cumulative score. I test again this week and if all goes well will have some info to pass around!

I guess it's true that people were memorizing the test. I've been handed a list of questions from the old test, but the first time I took it cold; no study. I aced the practical stuff but failed on the safety, knowing nothing about NETA. I'm a little more familiar with NETA now, but guess I should've passed it years ago when I got that 69 with no study.

As far as the test there are 100 questions now instead of 72 but the number of possible answers was reduced to 4 from 5. ("A" through "D" instead of "A" through "E"

Was there any answer on what the updated material looked like?

Any more updates on bettter study material for NETA 2 test? I assume the material on TESTGUY is still good to study, but the test is obv very different than what is on here.

We do have a few questions from recent exams in our pool, but it cant be emphasized enough that when taking the practice test, its important to focus on the subject matter rather than the actual question and answer. The practice test shows you which areas you need to study up on.
Many of the questions in the bank are official questions that have since been removed from NETA's pool. That doesn't mean that the material is irrelevant, they have just changed the wording and maybe added a few variables. If you know the theory behind what you are being asked it doesn't matter what the question is.
If you are frequently missing questions about confined space, for example, don't just try to find the right answer and remember it but instead study up on the appropriate standards. There are many links contained in the study guides to help you get started.
Its been said that the new Level 2 is as hard as the old Level 3 was. We have made our practice tests harder as well by moving some old level 3 questions to the level 2 but it would be a good idea to try your hand at a level 3 practice test just to see how you do and give you an idea of what you could be up against.
Bottom line is don't expect to pass your test only by taking practice exams. Study your missed questions and discuss them with your co-workers and the TestGuy community. Be sure to share any tips you may have for future test takers that visit the site.
Best of luck to you!
