I am new at this forum. I find it interesting considering our line of work being an electrical testing service company here in the Philippines. I would just like to ask your expert opinion on partial discharge testing.

How long does it take to acquire enough data for it to yield a reliable/correct interpretation?

What is the best PD instrument used in the industry, or it does not matter what instrument to use as long as it can collect a considerable data to be evaluated and interpreted?

If we decide to purchase a PD testing instrument, do we have experts in this forum who can interpret the results/data for us?

Could you give more information on the application? Different types of equipment require different partial discharge detection methods. By having an array of technologies available, the best methods can be applied for the specific equipment being evaluated in order to obtain optimum test results.

We intend to conduct PD testing on power transformers, generators, motors and power cables and to conduct these services, we are planning to purchase PD test equipment. Considering PD will be a new addition to our line of test equipment, we might require professional experts to interpret the gathered data for us. How long does it usually take to gather enough data to come up with the best evaluation?
