That's a great post. Thanks. I copied that to my Desktop. I've heard that DGA is the most important test that a technician can perform on a transformer to see what kind of condition the transformer is in.

Actually, the DGA and other tests, are very similar to taking a blood sample for analysis. In the DGA test there are a whole bunch of different gases that yes, can tell you what is going on in the transformer such as partial discharge, arcing etc.
