During a saturation test of a 1500/5 multi-ratio CT, 400 volts is applied to the X1 to X4 tap. The X1 to X4 tap is the 1200/5 ratio. What is the expected voltage across the X1 to X5 tap?

500 volts
This may be a trick question and the answer is 400V? If 400V is applied then how would you get 500V on X5?

Think autotransformer and how they work. Single winding around a core with multiple tap points (voltages). Apply voltage across the lower voltage tap to reference, and you will get the higher voltage output at the higher tap to reference.
