Does anyone know how to tell if a load tap changer is connected to the line end or neutral end of a winding? This seems to make a difference with the oil sample analysis.

I would take a look at the nameplate data as it typically shows how the tap changer is connected on the winding schematic with physical connections points. That being said, I haven't played with a GSU unit in a long time, but should still show a schematic representation.

Kalbi_Rob is correct. Always refer to the nameplate. It should show the winding representation and how its wired
