I don't think its a definite time! It depends on soil. After a heavy rain, some
soils could still be saturated. So I will go for at least 2 days.
What where the other answers?

I have not been able to find this in hard language (specifically IEEE 81 or FOP procedures), but most specifications call for fall-of-potential testing to only be performed after 48 hrs following any generous rainfall to allow the ground to dry.

Everything I've ever seen is 48hrs after appreciable rainfall.

it can generally take 2-3 days to dry. Usually, the soil should be completely dry within a week

Maaaannnnnn I ment like what standard could I take to a customer to explain my rationale for waiting/not waiting after rain... I cant send them to a gardening website telling me how long it takes for a flower bed to dry.
