    230kV Auto-Transformer (Insulation Resistance Test)

    What is the proper connections if I'm going to conduct Insulation Resistance Test for the Auto-Transformer?
    For the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary....

    Please.

    Thank you.

    Can you please tell the specifications of your Auto transformer?
    if you have any image for this and schematic for your system?
    Also where you are installing it and what are the specifications of device with which you are going to install this transformer?

    Good Day!

    Good Day Sir Dickie Cornell!
    Actually the transformer is a Three Phase Forced-Air Cooling Autotransformer with OLTC.
    Its rated Power in MVA are:
    HV=37.5 ; LV=37.5 ; TV=11.25
    With rated Voltage in kV are:
    HV=230 ; LV=69 ; TV=13.8

    Manufactured by SEC ALSTOM (Shanghai Baoshan) Transformers Co., Ltd.

    Thank you.

    Sounds like you are testing a very large transformer Rizza, I'm also interested in the application. Are you able to post a picture of the transformer?

    there are a couple of options, you can do H1 to Ho, full set of readings, then do one reading from X1 to Xo( this reading will be a constant reading since the tapchanger will be between the H1 and X1 winding, you can then subtract that X1 reading from all of the H1 to Ho readings to just get the H1 to X1 value if needed, as for the tertiary it usualy is a delta so readings would be Y1 to Y2, Y2 to Y3 and Y3 to Y1
