    Compartmentalized Switchgear Interiors

Question from practice exam reads "switchgear interiors are compartmentalized for the purpose of"

I answered "fault damage control" and it was marked wrong. Does anyone have any ideas what the correct answer is?

I'd imagine the reason this was marked wrong is because it has the word "Control" vs. the word "Containment". The first two reasons that pop into my head are energy containment and isolation, and the second thing that pops into my head is separation of services / systems.

Do you remember the answer choices you could choose from?

I agree with all of the above:

    A. Worker safety - compartments can help protect workers by separating them from adjacent sections that may be energized

    B. Dust and dirt control - compartments help keep dust and dirt contained by restricting airflow more so than a wide open gear

    C. Moisture control - by having a heater in each compartment, moisture mitigation is more efficient

    D. Fault damage control - compartments help reduce faults from damage by keeping the blast and resulting debris contained
