    NETA 2 Test Question MV Switches

    Metal-enclosed, medium-voltage interrupter switches should be:

    I am new to switchgear and have a background of just substations. Any ideas on this one?

    My answer was "Hook stick operated" and was wrong.

    What were your other options? A Hook Stick operated switch is something you'd find out on a high voltage substation yard I believe

    Mini-Rupter in an S&C switch are operated by handle on side of enclosure. A hot stick would be needed on the fused compartments (opposite of switch side) to remove the fuses from the enclosure.
    Not sure what other answers you had to choose from on this question. Hope this helps.
